The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe 0-5 Head Start Program has been in existence since 1965 the program is free for low income families and services all children ages 0-5 years who reside on the Standing Rock Sioux Indian Reservation boundaries and Mobridge South Dakota is included in service area. The program is funded for 332 children and 85 staff members. Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is located i S states of South Dakota and North Dakota.   

Head Start promotes school readiness of children under 5 from low-income families through education, health, social, emotional and other services. 

Education Services at Early Head Start and Head Start Centers: The program provides Infant, Toddler , Two's and Pre-School Creative Curriculum.

Home-Base Program: the homebase program provides the Parent as Teachers based model: helps organizations and professionals work with parents during the critical years of their children's lives from conception to kindergarten. PAT develops curricula that supports a parents role in promoting school readiness and healthy development of children.

The program's goal is to ensure teacher quality and enhance CLASS scores while meeting compliance in the CLASS DOMAINS of Emotional Support, Classroom Organization and Instructional Support.   

Head Start and Early Head Start Transitions begin six months prior to transitioning from Early Head start to Head Start program.   

The Head Start Program: We have a funded enrollment for 257 children ages 3-5 years with (8) head start centers in (7) districts throughout Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.   

South Dakota centers: Rock Creek Center (Bullhead SD), Bear Soldier Center (Mclaughlin SD), Running Antelope Center (Little Eagle SD), Wakpala Center SD that provides services for families in the Wakpala, Kenel and Mobridge service area.

North Dakota Centers: Cannonball ND (including Solen ND), Porcupine ND (including children in Selfridge ND), and two centers in Fort Yates ND (A/B and Discovery centers).

The Early Head Start Program: There is a center based program in Fort Yates ND with a funded enrollment of 22 children ages 0-3 years old. 

Home-Base Program: Has a funded enrollment of 46 children and 7 prenatal women.
